 The broken plug-in picture indicates that the QuickTime software has not been installed properly.
Follow these steps to help identify and fix the problem.

Install QuickTime 4.
Make sure you have installed QuickTime 4. If you are unsure, install it again. Get the QuickTime 4 installer here!

Install the QuickTime Plugin.
Check that the QuickTime Plugin is in the "Plug-ins" folder of the web browser you are using. If not, copy it from the QuickTime folder installed on your hard disk.

Check QuickTime Plugin version.
Verify that the QuickTime Plugin installed is version 4.0 or later. If not, copy it from the QuickTime folder installed on your hard disk.
